A New Community Music Group
It’s well known that music is a great way to stimulate our memories. The Milford on Sea Charitable Trust and the Community Centre have come together to offer a new, inclusive community group that will be open to anyone who likes music, and will welcome people affected by dementia or any other conditions. You can come along and join in with the singing or just sit and listen.
Music for a Healthy Mind, starts on Thursday 26th May at 2pm.
It will then meet on the second and fourth Thursday of every month in the Community Centre. Why not come along and join us for a cup of tea, and see what you think? The aim is to have an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon.
When a person experiences some memory issues, they and their families are likely to want to find out what help is available. The Milford on Sea Charitable Trust are providing a Coordinator for the village and surrounding area. She has worked with people with dementia, and will be able to signpost to relevant local services and support. Her name is Jan and she is experienced in working with people with dementia. She will be a sympathetic ear to people at a time when they may be very anxious. As well as being at the Music for a Healthy Mind sessions, she will be on hand at the Carers’ Café on the first and third Thursday of every month at 2pm starting on Thursday 16 June.
